What are UK departure airports for flights to Denpasar, Bali?
ü  London (all airports)
ü  London Heathrow (LHR)
ü  Manchester (MAN)

What is the average price of cheap flights from London to Bali?
ü  Garuda from £425.86
ü  KLM from £441.62
ü  Philippine from £470.34
ü  Cathay Pacific from £473.05
ü  Qatar Airways from £473.72

What is best flight route from London to Bali?
London – Hong Kong –Bali is ideally shortest legs but could include stop over.
Singapore Airlines flight is 16,5 hour flight with a short stopover in Singapore.
Cathay Pacific with a short stopover in Hong Kong.
Malaysia Airlines with a short stopover in Kuala Lumpur.
Singapore Airlines has the slight edge on service and the ease of transit in Changi Airport. Some said, this airline is the best ever.
Kuala Lumpur (KL) could be more affordable as a stopover destination.
Also consider Thailand via Bangkok. Bangkok could make a great stopover destination.

Which is the fastest way to get from London to Bali?
Singapore Airlines is probably the most direct route from London Heathrow to Singapore. Then you can get a plane a couple of hours later to Denpasar, Bali.

I am going on a Malaysia flight that leaves Heathrow mid day, overnight to KL, and then after a short wait, connects to Bali, so finally arrives at Bali mid day the next day.
Coming back, the actual flying time is the same, but leave Bali in the early evening, transit KL and connect to a London overnight flight that arrives back at 6am.  The transit time at KL for both flights is 90 minutes. The flight from KL to Bali is just under 3 hours.
Another advised way is London – Amsterdam – Denpasar, Bali with KLM.

The Singapore Air flight isn't that dissimilar to the flight that McPinder describes. Leave Heathrow around 11:30am, gets into Singapore the following day at around 7am, then you can catch a 9:30am flight out of Singapore to Denpasar which arrives around noon.

The advantage with the SIA flight is that it's on the A380, modern, very very quiet, great entertainment on demand. MAS still use old 777 planes. Plus as giftzwerg mentions, Changi Airport is head and shoulders over KLIA, with free foot massage machines, lots of free internet terminals (as opposed to a very small handful in KLIA), and more shops and restaurants than you can shake a stick at.

The downside is that SIA aren't that cheap at the moment, certainly MAS has it currently on cost, although the cheaper flights have terrible connection times. But you just need to keep your eyes open for deals.

As kathy mentions, I highlighted last week that Cathay Pacific have a 2 week sale on currently, with prices from £639. Disadvantage is that it's via HK, so you have a 12 hour flight to HK, then a 5 hour flight to Bali, so it's a lot of travelling if just going straight through without a stopover, and especially if only going for a week.

How many tourists from UK visit Bali every year?
About 221,521 British tourists visited Bali or about 18,460 per month in 2016.

How about London - Dubai – Bali ? Will they most likely transfer your hold baggage onto the connecting flight for you?
The stop duration time at Dubai airport is about 1hr10. If you fly with Emirates, they sell you a single ticket covering the full journey then it will allow sufficient time to transfer in Dubai and your hold baggage will be moved for you.

In Dubai you get off the plane, then follow the Transfer signs, look on a departure board for your outward gate and go  there, you will get two boarding passes in London.

They will check you in all the way, so all you need to do in Dubai is go through security once again.

The entire business model of Emirates and Dubai airport is quite reliant on these transits, so they’ve got a smooth system.

If your first flight is late, they will have ground staff waiting to whisk you away. Is really delayed, they will put you on next available flight to Bali. One case in the delayed flight caused by a bunch of people from another delayed flight hadn’t landed yet.

Qatar flies from London to Denpasar via Doha have same procedure for luggage and transit as Emirates.

Malaysia, Singapore and Thai airlines also have some real bargain fares. No need to go via Middle East unless you want to. Malaysia and Singapore Airlines are much preferred as they’re quicker.
